The Ministry of Health and Sports today released the Final Report from the recently concluded 2015-16 Myanmar Demographic and Health Survey (MDHS).  This is the first time a nationally representative Demographic and Health Survey has been conducted in Myanmar.  The project was supported by USAID and 3MDG.

Findings highlight important progress in improving health over the past five years, and provide detailed data for both government and development partners to focus on closing the remaining gaps in access to basic health services, especially for women and children.  The data will inform the Ministry of Health and Sports in implementing the new National Health Plan for 2017-2021.
