Myanmar’s health care services are largely financed by out of pocket payment (80%) at the point of care. There is no information about household spending on maternal and child health care in rural area. This study was conducted with the aim of assessing the out of pocket expenditures of household on maternal and child health care services in rural areas and describing the extent to which the MNCH program defrayed the out of pocket expenditures for the beneficiaries.
